In early June, more than 80 girls gathered at Margarita Muñiz Academy for a day centered on confidence, connection, and opportunity. Made possible through a partnership between Operation Warm, TJX, and Boston Legacy FC, the experience offered students something far from ordinary: a chance to step into a supportive space filled with possibility.
Removing Barriers, Unlocking Confidence
Through FLY:FWD, Operation Warm’s program focused on providing sports bras to girls, this event addressed a critical but often overlooked barrier to participation in sports.
Access to basic essentials isn’t just about comfort. It’s about confidence. When girls feel supported and equipped, they’re more likely to participate, stay active, and pursue their goals.
A Shared Experience
Throughout the day, girls participated in interactive activities, connected with Boston Legacy FC staff and players, and experienced firsthand what it means to feel supported both on and off the field.
There were high-fives, activities, conversations, and laughter; moments that helped break down barriers and build confidence in real time.
More than anything, it was about showing girls what’s possible when they see themselves reflected in strong, inspiring role models.
Looking Ahead
The event served as a reminder of the power of creating spaces where girls feel seen, supported, and empowered.
At Operation Warm, we’re proud to help provide opportunities that build confidence and help young people thrive one meaningful moment at a time.
