Coat & Shoe Program Information
Notice: Shoes are not currently available through this program.
Program Requirements:
Organizations applying to receive coats or shoes through this program must adhere to the following guidelines. Applicants are subject to TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) requirements unless they qualify under the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), as detailed below. Please note that completing the necessary forms does not guarantee the receipt of coats or shoes.
Eligibility Requirements:
To qualify for coats, your organization must:
- Sign the Beneficiary & Subgrant Agreement and acknowledge the following responsibilities:
- Complete TANF Eligibility Forms: Ensure all families receiving coats complete the TANF Eligibility Form (linked below).
- Or be a CEP-Eligible School: More information found here. Community Eligible Provision (CEP) Schools are not required to collect TANF forms from individuals.
- Retain and securely store all original signed TANF Eligibility Forms for at least five years and provide copies to Operation Warm upon request (unless CEP-Eligible).
- Distribute all coats and/or shoes to TANF eligible families within 30 days of receiving the shipment.
- Minimum order of 108 coats or shoes.
Next steps:
- Complete the Operation Warm Wish List Application, if you haven’t already, and specify your organization’s ability to serve TANF eligible families.
- Submit only one application per organization.
Timeline:
- Application Review: Operation Warm will review your application and contact you within 15 business days of submission.
- Order Confirmation: If approved, you will receive a notification of acceptance and a tracking number once your order ships.
- Compliance Survey: Approximately 30 days after shipment, the compliance survey will be emailed to confirm distribution and compliance with the program. Compliance is required and will determine future eligibly for the program.
